The Thompson Lacrosse Company was founded in 2014 by members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Reserve of upstate New York with a mindset of celebrating the heritage of the sport of lacrosse. The founding members wanted to preserve the Iroquois lacrosse culture by creating products that give all players the ability succeed at any level. In the spring of 2014 the Thompson Lacrosse Company entered the head market with the Thompson i6 head.

This new design pays tribute to the Six Iroquois Nations; Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora. The i6 head sidewall features the Iroquois Confederacy flag design to symbolize the unity of the five original Iroquois tribes as a nation. The flag has come to now represent all six nations of the Iroquois Confederation, hence the i6 name and sidewall design.

The sidewalls are designed to flex and add power to shots while the Firm Flex also keeps the head from warping over time. The rigid throat design allows the sidewall to distribute power to the sidewalls and scoop allowing for a crisp and accurate release every time.

Stringing The i6 Head

The Thompson i6 head was designed with the stringer in mind from the top-down. The scoop on the i6 has strategically placed eyelets that are recessed into the head to allow mesh and leathers to be secured tightly to the scoop and protect the top strings and leathers from premature wear.

The i6 scoop also has a perfect angle and radius to make any ground ball easy to pick up. With 18 stringing holes that are carefully placed throughout the bottom rail of the sidewall the i6 head was designed to allow for a tight mesh channels as well as complete customization while stringing traditional as well. Thompson Lacrosse wants every player at any level to be able to play with passion and the Thompson i6 head is the perfect solution.
